When selecting staff members for our school, we look for individuals who are passionate about education! We also look at the amount of experience and education they have had. All Kids Advancing Academy teachers receive a FBI & BCI Background check prior to working at our school and are required to take at least ten hours of training per year as well as several health and safety courses

Emily Horton, Lead Preschool 2 Teacher, Site Supervisor

Emily graduated High School in 2017 and has been employed with Kids Advancing Academy since then. She worked with children since her Junior year in High School, She participated in an Early Childhood Education program that prepared her for college. She has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Cuyahoga Community College. Emily enjoys working with children and helping their minds grow. She delights in seeing the excitement on a child’s face when they learn something new or finally conquer a challenge that they worked hard to learn. She is preparing her students to go onto pre-k, so she is helping them with learning their ABC’s, Numbers 1-20, days of the week, months of the year, shapes and colors. She also helps them learn about themselves, such as name, birthdate, age, where they live, etc.  She helps them learn how to identify and spell their names as well! Her class tries to work on handwriting before pre-k as well! She believes children learn best through play and association with other children, so they do have structured play as well, after our morning circle time! She cannot wait to meet your children and get to learn about them and be able to help them grow!
